Brian and Phil
Brian Cairnduff and Phil Burns have worked together under the cryptic title of anelephantcant: already a bright invader of the children's books scene and driven by a pair of highly creative and knowingly left field artists, is off on a new adventure.
Phil Burns is the graphic artist, and the pair have long pondered how best to market his Catalan-influenced abstract paintings, whose style is evident in his graphic contribution to the already published books.
What is interesting about what Brian and Phil do is their energetic engagement with the technology as well as with the marketing of their creations. |
Bill and Richard - 2canvas
Brian and Phil joined forces with a small Glasgow business - 2canvas, owned by Bill Laughlin and Richard Fildes, and situated in Glasgow's Stockwell Street - to develop a premier paper adhesive to allow good quality prints to be attached directly to walls.
2canvas represents the production side of the waje business while Brian and Phil market, develop and are the face of waje.
Bill and Richard, who have been friends for over 40 years, have similar backgrounds in IT. Four years ago they got together to follow a different path and the 2canvas business was the result. 2canvas, as the name suggests is one of the UK's leading exponents of the photos-to-canvas process and with many other wide format printing services available, their expertise make them a good choice to become the production side of waje. |
